Most subscriptions give you roughly the same value per dollar at every tier. TRAE does not — the more you pay, the more usage each dollar buys. Read directly from the official pricing page on 2026-09-08.
1. The five plans, as published
| Plan | Monthly | Included basic usage | Autocomplete | Concurrent cloud tasks | Queue |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | US$0 | Limited | 5,000/month | 2 | Standard |
| Lite | US$3 | US$5 | Unlimited | 2 | Fast |
| Pro | US$10 | US$20 | Unlimited | 10 | Fast |
| Pro+ | US$30 | US$90 | Unlimited | 15 | Fast |
| Ultra | US$100 | US$400 | Unlimited | 20 | Fast |
Pro carries a 7-day free trial; Lite is marked “limited offer: new user 7-day free trial”. The site mentions 25% off with annual billing, but the pricing page does not publish the annual amounts.
2. Our arithmetic: the multiplier ladder
Dividing included usage by monthly price (our calculation, not a published rate):
| Plan | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Lite (US$3 → US$5) | 1.67x |
| Pro (US$10 → US$20) | 2.0x |
| Pro+ (US$30 → US$90) | 3.0x |
| Ultra (US$100 → US$400) | 4.0x |
The ladder is unmistakable: from Lite to Ultra, the same dollar buys 2.4 times more usage.
Which means: if you are certain you will consume it, the expensive plan is the better deal; if you are not, the expensive plan is money thrown away. The structure shifts risk onto you — it is not selling allowance so much as selling confidence in your own forecast.
3. One official claim does not match its own number
Recorded honestly: TRAE describes Pro+ as “3.5x more usage than Pro” while listing US$90 included. Pro includes US$20, and 90 ÷ 20 = 4.5.
Both readings are defensible:
- If “3.5x more” means the increment (20 + 20×3.5 = 90), the number is consistent.
- If it means the total multiple, it should read 4.5x.
Ultra is labelled “20x more usage than Pro” with US$400 included, and 400 ÷ 20 = 20 — that one uses the total-multiple reading.
So the same page applies two different conventions to two plans. We do not pick one on TRAE’s behalf; check the figure inside your own account.
4. What the free plan covers
Not decorative, but sharply bounded:
- 5,000 autocompletions per month — the only free allowance with an actual number.
- Limited basic usage — TRAE writes “limited” and publishes no figure.
- 2 concurrent cloud tasks, standard queue — you wait at peak times.
The real friction on free is standard versus fast queue, not the allowance. The first thing US$3 buys is the right to skip the line.
5. How to choose
| Situation | Pick |
|---|---|
| Occasional use, happy to wait | Free — use the 5,000 completions |
| Daily but light, hate queuing | Lite US$3 — fast queue plus unlimited completion |
| Primary tool, agents daily | Pro US$10 — 2.0x, US$20 included |
| Heavy, certain to exceed US$90/month | Pro+ US$30 starts to pay |
| Team workhorse, high and steady | Ultra US$100 — best multiplier |
Pro+ and Ultra are the easiest to buy wrongly. Their multipliers are high, but only if you actually finish the allowance. Spend a month on Pro, watch real consumption, then decide — far safer than jumping to the top because the ratio looks good.
Read directly from trae.ai/pricing on 2026-09-08 and cross-checked against this site’s verification record of 2026-08-15. Plan prices, included basic usage amounts, the 5,000 completions, concurrent cloud task counts and queue tiers are all as published. The multipliers in section 2 (1.67x/2.0x/3.0x/4.0x) are ours, derived as included usage ÷ monthly price, not published rates. The wording mismatch in section 3 is the page’s current state; we do not resolve it on TRAE’s behalf. The site advertises 25% off annually without publishing annual amounts, and we do not estimate them.
